Canberra to Gold Coast

Gold Coast Hinterland

So the whole reason for this trip was to be in Tallai for my cousin Jenny's 40th Birthday party. Nothing like a good excuse for a road trip hey!

Saturday night was great, caught up with some family and the kids all acted like long lost friends. It never ceases to amaze me just how kids can pick up just where they left off.

Inverell

After Dubbo we packed up and low and behold... we made it out early again, could we be getting good at this? Next stop Inverell!

Taronga Western Plains Zoo Dubbo

The Taronga Western Plains Zoo is wonderful. You are never looking at the animals through fences as the paths are built up higher so you get to look out over the enclosures. The zoo is about a 5km road with paths crisscrossing their way around the enclosures. We drove as we felt it would be easier with Teddy however we think (as did most other people) bikes are definitely the way to go.

Canberra to Dubbo- The Start!

OK so we are hopeless at getting away early but that being said we did manage to be on the road at lunchtime – a record for our kick off day! We also managed to make it to our first stop, Dubbo, before dark, another great achievement.
