OK so we are hopeless at getting away early but that being said we did manage to be on the road at lunchtime – a record for our kick off day! We also managed to make it to our first stop, Dubbo, before dark, another great achievement.
It was about 4 and a half hours from Canberra to Dubbo and quite a good drive. About half way, we heard a noise, Greg thought it was something

on top of the car and I thought we had run over something. We pulled over and I jumped out to check the wheels – nothing? A little further up the road we heard another noise, this time Greg got out to check too… How I missed it I have no idea… The blinker was hanging by the wires! The plastic clip had broken, not sure how but ah well – hope that is the only thing that happens. Greg whipped out some tape and we were back on the road again in no time!
Quite pleased with our timing, we arrived at the Mid State Motor Park. We had a lovely grassy camp site that was right across the road from the park. The kids had a ball! There was also putt putt golf and plenty of other children to play with. We were only a few minutes to the zoo too, something that the girls were very excited about.
