From Arkaroola to Menindee Lakes

R_Girls_ArkWe finally decided we had to leave Arkaroola otherwise we wouldn't get to see the other incredible places on our itinerary!  We left Arkaroola on Sunday, stayed a night at a free camp outside Broken Hill then hit Menindee Lakes yesterday.  We are at another free camp, right on the banks of Lake Pamameroo.

Before we left Arkaroola, Greg took the Ridgetop Tour that everyone had been raving about.  He was then able to answer all Jasmine's questions with the knowledge he learnt! To top it all off hR_Jas_Toshe also took a chopper ride through the Flinders and out to Lakes Callabonna and Blanche and the Strzelecki Creek - all you Kaleen people reading this will recognise those names (the streets in Kaleen are all named after lakes and rivers).  Those three are currently in flood which is quite a rare scene. He has some awesome shots of both Tours and will pop them in the gallery when we get home.

We took some more great walks through the gorges R_Bara_Gorgeand waterholes with the kids before we left.  We left our bread and penut butter behind while we quickly finished one walk.  When we came back there was a big chunk out of the half loaf of bread - the (unseen) wallabies found it  and decided to help themselves!

Jasmine came out with our Quote of the day after being told to watch for the mozzies "Mum watch out for the August Flies, no May Flies" "Do you mean March Flies?" "Yeah, that's it, I knew it was a month that started with A or M!"

I'll leave you with our lovely camp site on Lake Pamameroo while we prepare to explore the area more.
