At 5:15 this afternoon we left Canberra and the PowerShot Great Aussie Road Trip officially began.

After a long and stressful day of packing we finally got out of the house. On the drive we realised that we have forgotten the following:

With a little over a week to go we have just hit panic stations! The enormity of our adventures has dawned on us and what are my plans for today? Lying in bed with a sick daughter who won't let me leave (she is finally asleep).

On Friday we flew to Sydney for a photo shoot with Canon. We spent the whole day on a cliff top overlooking Coogee beach. The photos we saw looked fantastic and form Canon’s marketing campaign for the PowerShot range of cameras that we are all using. All I can say is thank goodness for my Crocs or my feet would have been so sore by the end of the day!

So as a family what do you do to prepare for a trip of this magnitude? It helps of you have a vehicle, and it also helps if you have something to sleep in.
